Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

so can you get a viper for the 1.2

Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

Nope, only HGT. If you want one on your 1.2 you have to be creative and get a universal.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

is it really gonna make a huge difference on the 1.2? i've got a greens cotton induction kit on mine without any cold air feed. if i fed cold air to it would i notice any performance difference. i only really got it for the cool sound! :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

If you have not got a cold air feed you might as well put the old fiat bits back on. You will actually be loosing power now.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

Really?!?! oh dear! i can't say the car seems any slower though. or is the power loss only 2-3bhp?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

The fiat system is actually quite effective at getting cold air to the filter. You want the air as cool as possible as hot air is not as dense (thats why hot air balloons go up!) so the engine cannot burn as much fuel.

Depending on the temperature you could easily loose 5-10bhp.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

5-10bhp? oh crap! well i haven't removed the air box - its still there in the wing. so cold air is still coming into the engine bay. i just removed the pipe that goes across to the engine to get the induction kit in. what if i re-attach the pipe (or something similar) and run it upto the new filter? i guess some sort of heat shielding for the filter would also be a good idea?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

Is the new filter sitting in the old filter box?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: viper for 1.2

no its kinda sitting at the back of the engine bay near the bulk head. thats why i said about the heat shielding cos its kinda near the engine!
