As i have stated in previous posts. My stilo has, at some point, undergone a transplant of ECUs (BCM, Engine, Front fuse box) and im now having a nightmare getting the Security (5 digit) code from the stealer. can anyone tell me what the vin number is, of the car the parts came from, if i give them a reg no? stealer being an ass.

cheers in advance.
Rob

The problem is that the you have parts of another car
not registered to yourself. Who fitted the replacement
ecu's was it your stealer or someone else?

Who has the registration documents of the donner vehicle
car? you will need access to them to aquire the codes.

If your after additional keys then you may be able to
get them programed by a autolocksmith.

If the original donner vehicle has been scrapped then
send a letter to the DVLA explaining the situation
and see if they can help. Alternatively contact
the ISR Retina Group http://www.retainagroup.co.uk/
direct verify the situation and see if they will let you
have the info using the freedom of information act.

the parts were fitted when i bought the car. didn't realise at the time.

from the markings on the parts, i can only assume they have been taken from a scrap vehicle. and as such i do not have any documentation for the donor. The stilo keys use an ID48 transponder and so cannot be duplicated. only option is to purchase another key and add that to the system, which needs the PIN. :(

not the dealers fault someone changed the ecu/body comp theres nothing they can do!

Is it keys you are needing? if so you cant programme it without the correct code (5 digit) which belongs to the donor car.

it seems as though the whole lot has been changed, as the key i have only fits the ignition (not doors, boot, airbag switch, glovebox) nothing written on the ECUs other than the reg no of the donor car (though i do now have the VIN, Thanks Davren) but as i dont have the Logbook for the donor, i still cant get the damn code :( really getting annoyed now.

Does the ECU have a serial number Label with
a printed serial number?
Check the reg number and make of vehicle
against the DVLA tax due register to see if it was last licenced.
Photo the ecu with the code label. Contact the
ISR direct yourself giving as much info and evidence
as possible regarding your car and the replacement ecu.

On provision of enough evidence proving that the original
car is scrapped and you have it's ecu's fitted to your car you have
a right to the key code information direct from the ISR
register using provisions under the Freedom of information act.

PM Sent the ISR reference code is etched on the window
of your car quote both numbers and your reg.
and whatever info you can verify about the replacement
body ecu. Contact details for ISR on the PM.
