I heard on Friday that Victoria Park Motors (the main Fiat dealer in Cardiff) has closed. Apparently the smaller Fiat garage I use (Yapps) is snowed under with extra work, as a result.
But the Victoria Park Motors website doesn't show anything about them closing.
Any one got any news ?

Hi Chris yes I knew about the closing about two weeks ago and funnily enough it was Yapps that told me but don't worry it will be under new ownership later in the month Evans Halshaw the Citroen/KIA dealership are in the process of sorting it all out watch the local press for details (y)

Does anyone know exactly when Evans Halshaw will open their Fiat franchise in Cardiff? Also, do you know if they will use the old Victoria Park Motors site?

If anyone has got more info about the situation please let me know :)

Why dont you give Evans Halshaw a phone call at their Citroen site and get it directly from them I am under the impression that the old Victoria Motors site is going to be used and as they were going to have this signed sealed and up and running last month there could be a problem so a phone call would be the simple solution (y) Then report back :)

Got more info on the situation. Evans Halshaw has bought the Fiat franchise and will be opening a Fiat dealership on their Citroen site in a few months time. The old Victoria Park Motors site has been recently acquired by DFMC (Dutton Forshaw), a Peugeot dealership:mad:

Thanks for the Information I wondered why this was taking so long to finalise they were originally supposed to be reopening this Fiat franchise at the end of April/beginning of May but better later than not at all (y)

Yeah I do all my dealings with either Newport or Chepstow, both very good dealers... although I've heared Yapps are very good :)

The standard of workmanship at Yapps is very good its a shame they are no longer Fiat dealers saying that though they still have the software to put out that candle when you have a service and they can still get parts if you want them they came highly rcomended to me from a mate who had problems with his Passat that VW couldnt cure but Yapps did and at a fraction of the hourly rate of VW/Audi/Seat (n)

Never realised you were local to me Ozzie 1989 were abouts are you in the area Cardiff/Newport/Ponty etc ?

Fiat Uk had major problems getting someone to take on the Fiat dealership in Cardiff and eventually got into bed with Evans Halshaw. They are putting it where the Cadillac dealership is at present. It is due to open November/ December 2006 and will be a 4 car showroom. Some staff from Victoria Park Motors have been taken on I understand to run the new dealership.

They are NOW open for business adverts appeared in local press mid week :)

Well Bill at Newport has done me a few favours over the time I've been looking/owned a Doblo! But he couldn't do any warranty work for me there it had to go back to Chepstow to have it done... but I do admit the Newport one is fantastic couldn't fault them :)

Cheers Phil... saves me travelling to Chepstow all the time! How good are they though :p

They are new to the world of fiat so TBO I cant comment on them Ozz I do believe though they have taken back on a number of the old staff from VP Motors and I was always told to stear clear of them maybe there's someone else who would like to comment on them ?

When I was looking to buy the least helpful were Victoria Park Cardiff, and Bridgend Fiat of whom both were cocky, arrogant and didn't even bother trying to find me a Doblo as they were "hard to come by" at less than £5000 for an 02 plate.

Ha, Bill at Newport could and I ended up with an 04 plate... only reason Bill didn't sell it to me was because it was up in Chepstow so I went up there to get it :)

Update on this ... don't use this dealership .June has bought a new stilo from them and took delivery of the car and found damage to a door handle and it needed to be repainted ..which has taken two weeks to get them to get of their arses ..and when speaking to a manager one evening he told her "Of course we had Fiat dumped on us " [he was reprimanded for that comment ] and it was a crap job on the handle as well (n)

This is a citroen and kia delership thats taken on the fiat franchise here and so far I give them 0 out of 10 for after care and service (n)

cant condem a whole garage for one persons poor paintwork.

I wonder if you would be saying that if it had been your car :) and just for the record it is the same staff that used to work in the old Victoria motors franchise ..and they were absolutely clueless ..and that's exactly the words I told the guy that showed June back to here car ..the whole side of the car was filthy after the work had been done ..they couldn't even be bothered to clean one side ofthe car ..so what does that tell you about this company ..you go back because of one complain and they gave you cause to complain again with the state they let the car in ..It hardly inspires you and gives you confidence with these people does it (n)
