i am just sorting out buying a blackdeath comp sub! :D:D
vibe recomends the blackbox bass 5 to run this, now i havent had a proper look at amps yet but is there a better one? the sub is rated at 2500rms! and this amp is max 1350rms i want this the best i can get! :D
i have designed a sub enclosure (1st design) that i want covering the back seat backrests so these will be coming out what do you think?
the front will be covered by perspex or something similar and will have a port in the top, and reccomendations on what to tune this to?
heres a cad design

Has the bandpass been designed to any specification then. If the sub recomends 2.5k then i would put no less than 3K through it :D.
Your looking at a pretty hefty amp there and im guessing that you need at least 6/7cu ft of airspace for a sub which is designed for SPL not music.
What car do you have and do you mean that you are taking out the back seats in the car.
Tell me if im being patronising but are you a seasoned audio installer trying to build an SPL system, have you looked at the TS parameters and looked at every order of bandpass available.
Im am by no means an expert but that 4th order doesnt look right. The sub should be inverted firing down into the ported chamber (at the side so your not firing air straight out of the port) at the bottom leaving the top chamber sealed.

so you mean have the port on the side and not the top?
yeah just been looking at 4th order bandpass n i designed it wrong :p
4.5 cu.ft of air, so ive designed the sub box to be, W 40" X H 10.8" X D 21" which gives 4.5261cu.ft of air. its 40" wide to cover the area where the backrests would have been.
i want it designed so that the seats are still in but the backrests are taken out so it is on display.
what of the ts parameters am i looking at?

So where are your amps and battery going to go. I have a 3k amp and its huge, i tried to squeeze mine in but it couldnt dissipate enough heat and then no bass .
I would recommend building a false floor with at least 1: clearance youl find out why when you start installing things :D
I would also be thinking about using 1" thick MDF to stop any flex, i would seriously be considering using 1 1/2".
Those dimensions work out at 3.0065cu ft internal before displacements.
Do your dimensions include the chamber as well .
You need 4" between the port and any other surface.

those dimensions were a quick thing to see what size of box it would be, it does not include the chamber no... i decided on a 4th order after:)
and i read somewhere when calculating the volume of air it does not include the vol of driver, vent etc.... but recently just read that in ported etc you do...lol
and yeah 1 or 1.5 i think i will go with!
are you talking about a flase floor to sit everything on or to fit the amp etc in?
and im hoping that by taking the backrests out not only will it look better but more room for the other bits.

if i post up some designs do you reccon you could help me with best 1, port sizes and other bit?
wud b gd help! :D

TBH i am as clueless with bandpass as you are but im happy do help you with the research as its something that i have been meaning to learn for a while.
The false floor is so you can hide wires/distribution blocks etc etc and pass the wires from front to back and such like. This enclosure will have to be mahoosive so it will be better than passing wires over things so you need to think space efficiency aside from the fact that the stilo's floor isnt all that straight. I would be looking at a 2" raise for the floor.
I would imagine that you could fit a couple of batteries in the spare wheel well do a search on the big yellow this is the sort of thing that you are looking at.
I use one similar to this.

For basic calculators,

I will have a look for something more bandpass orientated.
