right, here's one for you all!
On UT rear calipers u have the little lever on the rear of the caliper that the handbrake cable attaches too and has the spring on to tension it when the handbrake is released. With me so far everyone?
well, the p/s rear caliper pulls as normal and pulls on the brake as it should. Now the d/s which is where im confused! The lever was stuck, prob from when i painted the calipers, so i released the bolt holding the spring in place and took both the spring and bolt out and freed up the lever. All good so far right? well no, here's the odd problem! When u push the lever down (to simulate the handbrake being pulled) the brake is released and the wheel spins round, but if u push the lever up (as the lever should sit with the handbrake released) the brake is applied as if the handbrake is on????
this has really confused me! Ive not taken the lever plate off, only the sping and refitted them properly!
any ideas? the calipers arent that old either as i took them from my green UT!
help, as this is a first for me! anyone reckon the caliper is fooked??

p.s. there is no brake fluid in the system when i had this prob. will this make a difference i didn't think u needed it to get the handbrake working. especially as the p/s rear one works?!?!
