Hi there! I have a Fiat Bravo 1,6 SX -98 with the original AD182H stereo, this is the stereo with the built-in CD-changer control. The interesting thing is that you don't have to buy an original, or not even a Grundig CD-changer. Any CD-changer that is supporting the Sanyo CD-changer system will do! I my self bought a "Symphony CDC-9200" (10-disc) on sale for 20% of what a Grundig changer would have cost me. I did the installation in 10 minutes. Four screws, I mounted the changer under the rear parcel shelf, and then just plug it in since the car is prewired. The advantage of mounting the CD-changer under the shelf, and not on the luggage compartment floor, is that it's very easy to remove the unit when you need the extra luggage space.

One big disadvantage with the AD182H stereo and a 10-disc CD-changer though is that you can't direct access disc 7 to 10 since you only have six buttons. The stereo will however play these extra four disks, but you (so too say) just don't have the same control over them.

With kind regards

Which Leads?

Hi Conny,
That sound great, but did were you able to use the existing lead in the car or did you have to use a new one, also is the connecting plug on the existing lead compatible with the CD-changer you got or did you have to get an adapter?

Just plug it in...

Hello Steve!

The existing eight-pole din plug in the car fitted perfect in the Symphony CD-changer. I didn't have to do anything. I don't know if an eight-pole din plug is any kind of guaranty that it will work but as far as I know Grundig, Symphony (?) and Sanyo uses the same system. Someone told me that Sanyo and Fisher have some kind of co-operation. Someone else told me that Sanyo and Alpine also have some kind of co-operation, especially regarding CD-changers… It's a jungle out there. I think that you can find lot of CD-changers with different names… but the same manufacturer. Good luck!

CD Changer

This does indeed sound great. I've tried a few car audio shops and no-one seems able to supply anything compatible with the Fiat radio/cassette. Where did you get your Symphony CDC-9200?

Sanyo..?

I bought my Symphony CDC-9200 CD-changer in a shop here in Sweden: www.clasohlson.se But they don't sell it any more. I've been locking for information about Symphony. But it seems that they really don't exist. So my amateur guess is that this is in fact a Sanyo CD-changer sold under a different name. It's not an unusual phenomenon.

I have bought a used Grundig autochanger for my Brava. Where do I find the connector on the wiring loom to plug into.

CD autochanger

I have a grundig autochanger and lead bought secondhand.

I like the idea of mounting under the parcel shelf.

Where does the other end of the lead fit, and how do I get to it?

Re: CD autochanger

Hi all,
My son has a 10 disc sanyo changerso i tried it in my mk 1 brava the only trouble is the head unit in my car is 4 a 6 disc changer therefore it wo'nt play the other 4 discs & it wo'nt play mp3s, i have already got an mcd36 fitted in my car so i do'nt need the sanyo changer so if any1 is interested in the sanyo knowing the info given above i'm sure some sort of amicable arangement can b negotiated. good words these aint they do'nt know if theyer spelt right though lol.

CD Changer

For £250 I changed the whole lot. Head unit and changer. I now have a superior JVC unit that takes 12 discs. This price included fitting. With regards to the head unit you can buy an adapter that fills the whole and then takes standard sized units. My JVC has face off so shouldn't get knicked, the controls afre better than the Fiat standard also.

Sanyo CD Changer

Hello

How much do you want for it?
Can you tell me where to look for the necessary connector in the wire loom.

Phil

Re: CD Changer

Hi Phill,
He just wants £20 & if yours is the mk1 bravo/a the your c.d cable should be in the lefthand side of the boot. If you are still interested you can mail me.

Hi there

Thank you very much for responding to my request. However, l kept on trying and there is a way to access all 10 discs. It's absolutely brilliant all round, best money l ever spent!

Marea cd changer connector

I have Fiat Marea with High radio. Can anyone tell me where can I find de connector for CD-Changer. Car should be with High radio, 6 speakers and prewired.

You may have CD cable

Check behind the left rear light cluster and remove access lid within the boot, it should be lying at the bottom of the cable harness, If it has a plastic insulating cover on the socket then it should be already live and connected into your headunit, if your unit has CD facility.

I was not so lucky as the cable was there but lying unconnected below the headunit (more nearer the front footwell.

Cheers Tom

10 disc CD changer

I have a Sony 10 disc changer controlled by the Bravo head unit via an interface made by Alcester Car Audio (about £70 - see www.alcestercaraudio.co.uk). Maybe they can supply interfaces for other changer units?

Only way to access discs 7-10 is to play last track on disc 6 and then it automatically plays disc 7. You can skip tracks on any given disc but your have to let the last track on discs 6-9 play fully to access the next disc.
