Technical USB port

Technical USB port

So the USB port in my fiat randomly stopped working. Anyone know how to fix it without having to take it to the dealership??
once this happened to me but it turned out to be the cable, not the usb plug itself = )

Could it be a fuse?

Not likely a fuse if it's intermittent but you never know.

The position of the socket in the Fiat renders it vulnerable to impact. When you plug in is there any looseness in the socket, i.e. is the plug held securely or is there movement when you wriggle it gently? I imagine you've already done so but, before taking it in, test it with different devices that are known to be working elsewhere.

No looseness. Battery was disconnected and reconnected so I will check in the morning to see if it works again. If not, off to the dealership I go.

same thing happened to me, tried to reset the radio thru its menu... nothing... used diferent set of cables... nothing... then i took the radio fuse (number 5) and the cigarrete fuse out (number 10), turned the radio on (it flashed and turned itself off) replaced the fuses and it all worked beautifuly again without the hassle of removing the battery cable. i guess this is what happens when you have a windows based system without a CTRL+ALT+DEL funcion, that has been and will eternaly be a problem solver.
