Hello, I am new to the forum, and I have bought a second hand Punto evo 1.4 GP, on a 60 plate.

I love the car, but I am having problems with the USB port, there seems be no power. I have tried two USB sticks, one has a power light / activity light on it, it never lights up. On the stereo, it says "no source available".

I know that by disconnecting the battery that this may reset the Blue&me and the USB port and fix the problem. However,I am worried that this may reset the radio, I have no radio code!!

I note on the alfaforum, that a poster posted the following;

" I disconnected the battery for 10 seconds. Problem solved! No other things had any issue. Date/Time ok. Windows ok, Radio ok. Quicker than waiting over two weeks for the dealer to look at it..."

Has anybody tried this, without having the radio resetting its self, was the radio ok, no need to put a code in?

Thanks guys

Thanks MEP, but I thought that if you dsconnect the battery, the radio would shut down and then would require a code, just for clarity have you done this procedure before without affecting the radio, no code to input?

The code is only needed when the radio is removed and refitted into another vehicle to which it is not programmed to. It's programmed to the origional vehicle it came out of the factory in when the car was built (y)

Hi All, well I disconnected the battery for ten seconds and the roadio was fine, but this did not reset the USB port and it still does not work, the message on the stereo is 'no source available''. The USB stick has loaded on it the upgrade to 5.6, and has a small power light that should power on.

Any suggestions.on what the problem could be.

Thank you!

Ten seconds isn't enough to do anything. Leave it off for half hour or so (y)
