Panda Urgent help needed

Hello. Really need help. My Panda key has lost it's code but the remote key fob still worked. Took to Fiat dealer today. Charged me £35 to reset the code but this did not work and now telling me that fault with the remote fob. It was working when I took in this morning and now telling me £300 to replace. Could they have damaged it by trying to recode key ? Have new battery in it. They say they have to deactivate whole thing to recode. Are they pulling a fast one on a lone Woman ? Thankyou

£300 doesn't sound right. I've just had a new remote this week for my 100hp and it cost £185 all in - deposit, key fob and syncing the fob to the car. Ask to speak to the Dealer Principal.
