Just taken possesion of a late mk1 (early 99) punto. Perfect order except the ICE's a bit naff - goodmans GE7109? and the left hand dash speaker is knackered (distorted to hell once the volumes any way turned up).
So, seeing as I'm a novice to all this ICE stuff I was wondering if anyone's got some suggestions!
As I understand it, the front dash speakers are 87mm & the rear parcel panel ones are 100mm. I'm not into doing any serious kind of internal cutting of panels (don't have the skill or the tools) but just want to give the audio a bit of a leg up.
From what I've found on the web, the most "recommended" option is components on the front and a sub @ back. While this is the "ideal" - I can't realistically see way of fitting components into the dash without spending my next few months doing a workshop course at night...
It would obviously simpler to replace all 4 speakers and put in a decent HU. But given the availble space to mount the speaker, won't the sound stage be really messed up, what with those tiny 3.5" jobs @ front?
Cheers for any advice!
