Uno Uno's first wash in two months!

Introduction

Gave my little Uno a wash yesterday - first one since December!

Ok, so it's a bit scruffy, but not bad for a car that is largely original and just coming up to its 20th birthday (y)

And the picture below I couldn't resist taking. I was up in London near Carnaby street and saw a 'Cafe Uno'! Of course, I had to park my car in front and take a picture :D It was dark so it didn't come out that well, but look above the car and you can just make out 'Cafe Uno'

Cheers Guys! I try and keep it nice, and even I am surprised at how it doesn't rust much. Can you imagine what condition a similar aged Fiesta or Nova would be in?!!! :yuck:

CinqySx, yes, I'll be up at the ACE cafe this Thursday. I must get round to putting my name down on the list...

Uno_94, the paint isn't that bad, it just has it in a few different shades of red! I have a replacement door to put on and also a bonnet (both in the same colour). At this rate it will probably have every shade of Uno red that Fiat produced on its various panels :p

Oh, and as for mileage, it's done just about 88,000 miles. Low mileage for a 20 year old car, but I've put on 26,000 miles since April 2003 (y)

OldSkoolUnos rule! :worship:

Sweet good stuff, the silver one looks mint too!

Was going to mention the good old paint mismatch.....chatting to this Alfa chap the other day and he said that he had a GTV in where lots of paint had faded such that virtually every panel was a different colour.

Cheers again for the compliments guys (y)

Dazzdog, that silver mk1 Uno looks very smart! At least all the paint matches unlike mine :p

At the moment, mine has three shades of red on various panels, four if you include the offside rear quarter panel that was resprayed sometime in its past.

The tailgate is a turbo item, and the red is much darker than the rest of the car. I have another turbo tailgate that is a better colour match and that will be going on soon.

The passenger door was replaced three years ago (usual Uno door bottom rusting problem), and is slightly darker that the rest of the car.

The offside quarter panel was resprayed before I got it, and is quite a good match.

The rest of the car is original, though lots of the paint has oxidised (see strip on bonnet that I didn't finish!)

I have a replacement drivers door to go on as the original is very manky, and the paint on the newer door looks a good match. I also have a replacement bonnet to fit, which looks very slightly darker. I'll know how good a match they are when I get round to fitting them ;)

Still, considering its age it's amazing the shell has never been welded, though it will need a a couple of small patches before the next MOT. If I can achieve the impossible and have a rust free 20 year old FIAT it might be rewarded with a respray ;)
