General UNO's ECU shuts off A/C

I have a yr 2000 UNO, 1.24CFI motor from Fiat India. Runs like a dream. Recently got a marini autogas system fitted. Installer claims he had to cut and route the fuel pump wiring thru the LOVETO control unit coz otherwise the injector petrol supply could not be cut when on gas. Now whether on gas or petrol, the ECU (magneti marelli)light comes on after a few minutes and the A/C gets switched off. There is no overheating and everything else is fine. (The car has a central locking system and an immoliser)Somebody please help! Is the ECU kaput, or could this be an installation problem?
