General uno!!!

that looks better with bigger wheels lol
about the springs, i spent 55 on a lowering kit, and i've spent around 200 on ICE and 50 on alloys and just ldz of other bits....i didnt pay anything for my uno :)

Mine was also a stop-gap, but is still here over 3 years and 40,000 miles later. Its also having a break for a bit, having done 195,000 miles in total, though can't go and get rid of it. It can still cruise at 90 and return 60mpg on a run if I really try...who needs a crappy Prius? I'm going to either dry store it for a little while or repair the tatty bits and have it back on the road later this year, it will be back sometime though!

.... and foolishly bought a Citroen AX GT instead. :bang: ....

Whoaaaah there matey! And just what may I ask is foolish about buying a Citroen AX GT?! ;) ive had 13 of the buggers.

Loverly Alfa that - I nearly bought a silver 2,0litre GTV turbo. Which I think was an Italian market only model.

My next door neighbour has a Alfa Sprint 1.7 Veloce too. Absolutly bloody loverly. We used to have one as well a while back but it slowly rusted away.

My first Uno was a 903cc White MK2. Bought for £100, and driven for a year. It went through two engines in that time (another £50 all in ;) ) and went to the scrappers 12K later with a warped head so bad, that if you stopped the engine, water would fill the bores within mins and would hydraulic. So youd have to pull the plugs out, crank it over to blow the water out, quickly bang the old plugs back in and get it started. £150 for 12K miles is a bloody good deal, and living in a city at that point, nothing was better, I parked the thing anywhere, dinks and dents didnt matter. Was a great car. (not as good as an AX GT though ;) )

well i picked up the gtv yesterday, jumped straight in and drove home....360miles...very quickly...superb noise and throttle response....feels quick and sorted...but the rust issues and broken manifold stud will have to be dealt with immediately before i press it into service...manifold stud could be a bit of a bugger..........i really like this wee road rocket...and rwd too...cant wait for my first wet roundabout at 3am....whey hey!!
