Technical uno turbo

my uno turbo will not run propely,starts fine but then cuts out,wen it runs ok,its lumpy,still pulls ok,ive got worn turbo and also cracked manifold,checked plugs and they black,tryed adjust afm but does nothing.the revs are uneven 2.new temp sensor switch,supplermenary air valve,my turbo is mrk2.i have 1993 uno turbo and thts got ihi turbo nd mine has garrett 1 will tht be ok to put on mine???i tryed the afm frm 1993 turbo and tht made the revs uneven.any help thnks

few more things to try..

1) vaccumm hoses, if its' loosing vaccum, it won't run right no matter what else you change.

2) fuel pressure valve thing, again linked to vacuum, changes are its full of gunk and engine goo, clean it, or replace it.

3) AFM, they're evil, if you know somebody with a good running mk2, then try puttin gyour suspect AFM on their car and see if it makes it run bad, I think you *CAN* test them with a multimeter, but don't quote me on that.

4) boost leaks, check your boost hoses, especially that nasty one that runs under the sump (you know, where speedbumps will tear big chunks out of it )

Possible vacuum leak. Check hoses for splits as suggestd. Maybe the inlet manifold gasket needs replacing. I don't know enough about these cars to suggest more than that.

If its not any of the afformentioned things you may want to try changing the coolant tempeature sensor... when ****ed they can play havok with mixture/idle/AFM settings

sorted it,intercooler had hole in it.thnks guys
