Hi there, suddenly i am getting a whining noise when in second gear, both while accelorating and just slowing down to a junction etc...It did start doing this in third gear then stopped, now only in second gear:(
Has anyone got any ideas on what could be causing this?

Most likely its your gearbox thats whining mate. Does it have oil in it?

no lack of boost at all,was serviced not so long ago,so haven't really checked the gear box oil.
how easy is it to get to?can't you buy oil that can help quiet down the whine on gearbox?

Greased Lightning gearbox treatment is good. they invented the ptfe treatment and thats what i always use, engine and gearbox. just makes changes a lot smoother. duno if it will stop a whining bearing tho.

used some gearbox treatment and has done the trick,no whining and change is easy.
Stated in a previous post about smoke from engine bay,if you open the bonnet it seems to be coming from the very back of the engine bay,as if under where the wipers sit??any ideas what it may be????

Could be the heat shield? Mine ended up with a couple of holes in it where the engine mount was worn out making the turbo pierce the foil and start to smoulder the wadding underneath?

DO NOT (as my idiot friend nearly did) try to put it out with a bottle of water!!!

its your diff it did it on mine then its cracked and came apart and oil pissed out all over my workshop floor
