Hi all, I've been working on a project that needs a VSS signal from my uno turbo. As we all know, the UT ECU does not output this signal so I've done a bit of research and discovered a transducer (£40) which would fit were the standered speedo cable fits in the gearbox. The speedo cable would then connect to the back of the transducer so you would'nt loose your tachometer (Not that we use this anyway ;))

Could someone tell me if this will fit in the UT gearbox please :D

Just wanna give fanx in advance for any help you wanna throw my way :D

Ok, well after some digging around it seems that the fiat gearbox uses an M18 for the speedo cable, making this the perfect solution for creating a speed pulse signal.

I'll update this post for anyone who's interested and might need this sort of tech in the future. :D

Good plan - thanks. I'm away from my Uno and so couldn't check the thread size. Thought someone might actually know for certain, but a reply could take weeks - your 'bump' made me laugh, as the thread wasn't exactly submerged by a sea of new threads

The solution looks ideal as you get to keep the standard speedo.

Using this transducer, you could use the signal for the digit speedometer
that was offered in some UNO Models.
That digit speedometer is know for not being very exact,as the signal is
created by a primitive photoelectric barrier.

After a brief chat with the manufacturers we have worked out that in fact we need a different transducer :D the 65H has no sleeve at the speed cable end (unlike his brother 66H that I was sold) this will mean that the M18 thread will connect with the speedo cable with at least 6 turns (instead of only half). It’s been quite fun trying to work out how to produce this VSS signal, ultimately this will be the final stage of completing my goal of being able to boost by gear :)

Well it transpires that the 66H would have worked, however the 65H also works like a charm, meaning that my car now pulses the speed to my boost controller giving me control over how much boost to apply in each gear... The results are stunning :) anyone who wants any help with this kind of setup p.m. Me, it's well worth the money ;)
