hi guys, got a 93 uno turbo cat model with a med610a ecu, will a med604c work ok? anyone know the difference? cheers:)

i wouldn't buy it or try it, there are 2 different ones on mk2's no cat and cat, and yours will want to run the lamba probe, also which ecu as theres one on top of the air flow meter(fuel) and one on the bulk head (spark) i would only source one with the correct id. What makes you think its the ecu as there pretty hardy! more likely rotten broke green italian wiring and connectors i went through mine yesterday as a routine poke about, everything is a ok! Ant!

it was off a 92 mk2, had lying about dont know if it had a cat. no problems with mine, just a spare if wont work i'll sell it! cheers chaps

i dont think 92s had cats. as mentioned. ones with cats will have pin/s (depending on what lambda - probably only single wire) on the ecu that connect to the lambda, if u use an ecu with no ability to figure out what ur lambda is doing you'll get a/f issues, even if it starts :bang:

The microplex has nothing to do with the fuel system, cat or no cat. Its totally seperate.

In the uk definately, and would of thought the world realy, i have a golf gti 92 without a cat (just missed) and a 93 uno cat equiped (even tho i unequiped it) didn't every car manufacturer move over to tighter emmissions eg cats in 92 i always thought so maybe not? ant!

Get real. Many countries dont even have emissions standards now. Others introduced emission equipment well back in the 70's

So i take it nz has no emmission control, or cats on their cars, weve been under control for 14 odd years, and we are supposed to be the dirty old man of europe he he! anyway i'm not helping running 2 older cars blowing the ozone away! the guy who asked the question is in england Ant!

Pretty much all new cars sold in NZ will have emissions and cats etc but its not required by law. The only emission law is, and I quote. "vehicles must not be too smokey" bahaha!

With European stuff, we mostly get UK market cars. However a friend has a 1993 Uno turbo (the only one in NZ) and its the same as my 90, no emissions.
