They dont exist Chas, not from the factory anyway, this guy is selling a brochure from a Dutch company that offered this conversion. I agree it does look very much like a mark 1 golf clipper convertible but i'd hate to imagine having an accident in that!

i found a pic of one the other day. i think it was on here actually...... one with 3 people sat half in half out kinda thing.
Looked quite cool but if a proper hard top turbo looks like this after a smash ui dont wanna think what the cabrio looks like....

Well I'd be quite happy to be in one of those 'cabrios', since it's not fully-open and that rollcage is probably stronger than the standard roof!

fiatdownunder - that picture is faked I reckon. It looks like the rear half of an Uno, cut off in Photoshop. It looks like a scrapyard in the background, so someone's grafted-in the speed camera.

I know it's a conversion Fro$ty, but I wondered if anyone had ever seen one for real? Looks quite neat, though those two pipes running to the back look a bit weird. It kind of reminds me of a pick-up truck or something out of Mad Max...

And that pic, well spotted Alex. Quite why someone put a speed camera in a breakers yard is anyones guess. And looking closely, behind the two white pick up trucks (one looks American) is a white mk3 Ford Cortina!

It also looks like the Uno turbo has a rusty right rear wheel arch where the plastic arch trim has come away

i dunno, but i think the cameras there good an proper

if the accident was causing a problem they would of just removed it, as they would just replace the pole and reuse the camera

also, if it is faked they have gone to a LOT of trouble getting shading correct!

remember, UTs were sold in other countrys and you might see vehicles like that in say.. South Africa :chin:

The reason you can see the front is that its gone backwards into the pole, you can see the door latch and the rear edge of the door, meaning that you wont see most of the front of the car as its poiting away from you, and bent in some rather odd angles :p
