Good Day Guys

please assist my car started to shudder badly when i have engaged the reverse gear.
So if i start to let of the clutch slowly it shudders while it reverses, i suspect it might be the gearbox mount that is tired..

Please advise!!!

It could be the mounts, but it could equally be a another transmission problem.

Has it had a clutch recently?

Check the front gearbox mount under the battery. Probably works OK going forwards but maybe the rubber stretches/separates when reversing. Test by chocking the wheels/applying the handbrake and having someone try to move the car forwards/backwards while you watch the engine from the side to see if it's jumping around.

If it isn't that, maybe the clutch needs replacing.

hello guys

So on saturday i did my service as my car due and while i was at it. i checked out the front mount and i removed it as i suspected it, although i needed conformation.

I got a new one and fitted it the car is not shuddering anymore, Thanks for all your advise.

I did my clutch 50 000km ago, now i have realised that my gears are not smooth any more and i thought it is about about time i change my gear oil or may it is just low.

Which tool do you guys use to open the Gearbox filling bolt.
Please correct me if i am wrong, the front bolt(allen key) is for filling the oil and the left hand side one at the front is for draining the oil???

You´re right, the upper screw is for Filling, the other one for draining.
You´ll need a hose for filling, or a big injection with a short hose at the tip.
If you don´t have the key for opening, you can use the
head of a proper fitting screw. Just counter two nuts on the screw
and you can use it with a ratchet.
Be sure to use some solvent the night before and maybe slightly
hammer the draining and filling screw if they are corroded.
