Hi,
I have a South African 1100cc Uno, 2001 model. It has the FIRE engine. Ever since I've owned the car, which is for about 5 years now, I've used unleaded petrol in her but I've always noticed that when pulling hard up a hill she will 'pink'. The timing, etc is spot on, so no issues there. Last week I went to my local BP garage to fill up and because of a transport strike they didn't have unleaded petrol in stock. As I was quite low on fuel I put half a tank of LRP (lead replacement petrol) in her. I immediatley noticed an improvement in smoothness and no more pinking going up hills. My question is; will it be okay to continue using LRP petrol? The car doesn't have a CAT fitted and is not fuel injection or anything. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.
