Technical Uno Front Strut Noise

I recently bought a 2nd hand Uno with 40000km. When turning the steering wheel, I heared a strange noise from the front suspension. Closer inspection revealed that the noise comes from the front struts. As the steering wheel is turned, force is applied to the coil spring. The coil spring does not rotate smootly in the upper mounting plate but with jerky movements, each jerk resulting inthe sound heard from the suspension. The noise can also be generated by rotating the coil by hand. I dont know if this is a common problem with Uno's. removal and overhauling of the strut should solve the problem, but with only 4000ks on the clock, I dont want to go that far. If someone has a quick fix for the problem please let me know. Thnx Koos
