Hi everyone!

I have a lovely little Uno 1100 Mia (South African model - 2001):). It has the FIRE motor. As preventative maintenance I'm replacing the radiator, the hoses and the water pump. The weather is begining to warm up in SA now and I don't want to have any cooling problems!
I also want to change the pipe that comes out of the back of the water pump that goes to the bottom rad hose, as there is a bit of corrosion on it. I've already bought the pipe from the agents but I'm a little nervous about replacing it as I see the end that the hose connects to is very close to the bellhousing plate and this is my main worry.
How difficult is it to push in the new pipe, given that there is very little room at the end of it to apply any force to get it into the back of the water pump housing?
Has anyone done this job and does anyone have any tips on doing it? Your advice would be greatly appreaciated.:worship:

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the advice Dave, I'm going to try it this weekend, should also be easier as the radiator will be out of the car too.

Replace also thermostat, as it's most often cause of overheating. Don't forget to properly bleed cooling system

Thanks for the tip, I replaced the thermostat a couple of months ago when I fitted a new head gasket. This time I'm putting in a new radiator, top and bottom hoses, a new water pump and of course replacing the pipe from the pump! That should keep the cooling system in good order for a few more years!:)

Getting a little warmer, should feel joburg. It's too bloody hot here. I'm suprised the Uno Turbo around the corner is getting enough air into that turbo too boost it as much as he can.

Sorry about the jack, Have to communicate with one of the other Uno forum members from South Africa :p
