Technical Unhealthy Bottom Noises

If its not the anti roll bar link rods, check the anti roll bar its self.to check it you need to disconnect the link rods and move the anti roll bar up and down.if there is any movement, thats your problem.....................

Good advice, thanks. New wishbones & new anti-roll bar links. Expensive, but a complete transformation. No knocking, no rumbling Worth every penny. Here we go for the next 100,000 miles.
Hello disgusted.

I have the same knocking noises. Have been told by garage that whol anti roll bar needs replacing which is a big job. What do you think?

Ta, Nicki multipla fan in Norfolk

I have had the whole anti roll bar replaced on my multipla, it took the garage less than hour to replace but they are expensive, about £100 quid. Made the car feel better to drive though!

Evening all... a cautionary tale about suspension noises:
My Multipla had AR bar and drop links replaced last year. Now, nearly 12 months on, same noises again. But turns out this time not the bar, bushes or drop links, but a failing ball joint on the suspension wishbone. Makes exactly the same 'clonk', especially on smooth roads at 30-40mph, but much more serious fault as if it fails the car will lose it's wheel. So, if clonks are heard, jack up a front wheel and see if it can be moved 'in and out' at the bottom. If yes, its balljoint failing. Cure is new wishbone (£60 plus VAT from shop4parts) and around 40 mins to fit.

Hi
I am in the process of trying to rid the car of suspension noises.I have done the anti roll bar and links and it is a lot better (the anti roll bar was absolutely knackered ) this weekend its time to change the shocks as the car is a bit bouncy.Hopefully that will be it if not it looks like new wishbones.
Does anyone know if a standard spring compressor is ok or do i need a heavy duty one

Thanks

Sorry i cannot help with your question but if your taking the struts off id change the bearing / rubber mounts on the top of them as they can cause a few clonks and noises and shouldnt be expensive.

i've had the same - Anti roll bar replaced ball joints etc etc but all to no avail turns out its one of the outer CV joints. Boots are okay but judging by the kerb marks on the alloys and the fact that the previous owner was a woman  I guess it may have been damaged by some high speed kerbing (easily done due to the Multipla's width)

We had a few of these noises.

AR drop links replaced at stealer for £120 ish. Not the end of it though (good of the dealer to tell us...)

Wishbone AR linkage next culprit - quoted for new wishbones etc. Left it to see what would happen...the whole joint gave way!

Towed by RAC to garage. Got local indy to replace just the bushes - which we were told before couldn't be done - then computer tracking (including re-setting steering wheel to dead central) all for £120.

That was last summer - now I thought I heard knocking from underneath again...
