Looking to becoming a first time GP owner, seen one at a local car dealer, it's a 1.2 Active 57 plate. He was kind enough to have the car raised on a ramp so I could take a visual inspection of the underside.

Everything seems OK, no rust, in fact reasonably clean, no obvious signs of leaks etc... However I'm not too sure if something is missing from the underside of the vehicle, so before I part with my hard earned I'd like to get some input from you guys if possible please.

OK, so my question is, looking underneath the car, should there be some sort of panel, protection sheet, facia, call it what you want that runs the length of the vehicle?

The thing is that as I view the underside of the car, I can see the drive shaft, above that is the underside of the floor, with the moulded recess created during manufacture, but I was expecting to see some sort of panel between that and the shaft. The other thing that's raised my suspicion is due the fact the there are small steel studs protruding from underneath the car along its length that may indicate something was once attached them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

This photo of Andy's might help:

LOL, it's not an F1 car. :)

The Sporting mJet has several plastic panels in areas to help deflect air and reduce drag, but not the full length of the car, and definately not on a 1.2 Active. You probably wouldn't find a full undertray on anything costing under £30k.

Hi

Thanks for that guys, it's a great help.

D4nny8oy what do you mean it's not an F1? That's what the car sales guys been telling me:rolleyes:
