Hi iam thinking of holding onto my little 98 Cinquecento for some strange reason lol for years to come:wacky:,well as long as i have the garage to store it and as much as there is no rust on it yet i don't want to see it either so iam thinking of applying Waxoyle,i guess what iam asking is there any other recommend treatments out there that anyone has tried,Another question is can it be applied by hand?? or is sprayed on iam thinking that both can be done?,

Any help would be great thanks all the best Donald

too late :D

Cinqs are fairly rust resistant anyway, but waxoyleing is a good idea, that hammerite underbody sealers suppoded to be excellent too and can be painted on with a brush i believe ;)

Hi, i used that on the back wheel arches and rear spring seats when i had that all stripped down in the winter and like you say its just like paint but i do have that in mind but those clear sealers that are going about do appeal to me more as it does not look like you are hiding something if you get what i mean but do they do as good a job at sealing is the question??,

Cheers Donald

these mods eh? :D , naughty, naughty :D

the paint stuff looks horrible, but does a very good job sealing, the clear stuff i've heard about isnt "quite" as resistant, but should do the job well enough over winer months if applied before bad weather sets in :)

Yeah i thought it would last longer myself to be honest but the clear treatments do appeal to me more than paint, not that its going to be used in the wniter months all that much but you never know its more to stop the rust from setting in and with it being 10 years old i thought it was about time it was done, thanks.
