Technical u1700 Fault Code

It all started when the car lost its programming i dont understand why. The option to turn off and on day time running lights has vanished on the instrument panel. Also today i turned the radio on and turned the volume up a little but the car decided to turn it up to 36 and would not let me turn it down.

On diagnostic all i get is different modules having intermittent issues with body control.

I dont understand what it is down too.

Could be just the battery needs replacing it throws up faults galore ,but let`s see if any one else can help

Fiat have tried the update to fix the day time running lights but it failed. The battery is green and showed correct on diagnostic machine.

Try removing the earth on the battery for 45 mins and let it reset back to factory settings and see if it helps you may have to reset clocks,date and time etc but see if it helps ,it will shut everything down and the computer will start from day one so to speak just a thought ,as for the battery it has been known if they are 3-4 years old they do start to throw errors but if yours is new then it cant be that.

I don't see how can be bad Earth on a 2011 plate. When body control is inside and earth inside. Fiat are saying instrument panel but I disagree.

There were a few reports of instrument panel failures ,maybe that`s why they said that ,i still would be tempted to put a brand new battery on ,it has been known even if failing slightly to be a pain with warning lights etc unless any one else can up with something its worth a shot ,or if you know some other abarth owner who has just got a new battery ,to just swap it for a hour to see if it is that ?
