Grande Punto Tyre Change Help?

Hi all,

Can anyone help, had a sudden release of air from one tyre not sure if it's a severe puncture the valve or something else .. Anyway I bought the car second hand, it's an 07 Grande Punto M-Jet Sporting with 17" alloys,and I don't have a jack or a tyre brace/wrench, or a spare tyre ,just the fix and go "tyre in a can" which I don't think will work as I've tried pumping it back up and the air just comes out as soon as it's going in.

Anybody know what size brace I need to get the wheel nuts off so I can take the wheel off and take it for a new tyre/valve/repair?

It's a 17mm socket for the wheel nuts, yeah those cans are a waste of time!!

Any specific jack I need might as well buy one of them too? while I'm at it

any jack will be fine, you can pick them up cheap enough at halfords or euro car parts, regards jack

In the long run you might consider buying a 15inch spare wheel and jack kit from a lesser punto. Alternatively you can squeeze a full 17inch sporting alloy in the well face up with a (slightly trimmed down) jack kit underneath it as I have done.

Thanks, I have been looking at getting a full spare wheel,

Reached another problem now though, found a wheel brace I have that fits , however it only fits 1 of the 4 wheel nuts , the other 3 seem to be bigger maybe with some sort of cap on but i cant seem to get them off :bang:

Any ideas?

If the other 3 have fancy plastic caps fitted, a standard socket will get them off.
Either fit a standard socket and waggle them about a bit, or just trying to get the bolt out will smash them.
