As my fiat bravo 2008 steering wheel was looking a bit worst for wear I decided to buy reconditioned one off eBay. When I tried to replace my steering wheel I realised that there are two types of steering wheel.
The one fitted to my car has only the hole for the steering column and has four mounts for the airbag. The replacement I have has three square holes and three mounts for the airbag.

I've had a extensive look round and can't source a like for like replacement for my original. Therefore I'm thinking about buying the matching airbag for the new steering wheel and fitting that.

Has anybody tired this? Would the connection be the same? Otherwise does anybody know where I can get my hands on the correct type of steering wheel?

I found out while trying to fit an abarth GP/EVO wheel to mine (wheel didn't fit steering column but airbag fits wheel ) 2 styles of wheel & 2 airbags were used up until 2010 facelift after that only one was used, if memory serves it was the one in your 2nd pic

Edit: airbag connection may differ as well
