Where are tweeters best wired from? Front outputs on the head unit or are they better straight from an amp?

HELP PLEASE!lol :p

doesnt a cross over have to be used in between either amp or h/u , you most probs know this, but am just checking :p

tbh i have no idea, my tweeters connect to the cross over that the speakers connects to and that goes into the amp

if you got no cross over then maybe you can use the hpf setting on your amp (if it got it) to seprate the frequencies

Tweeters will definately need crossovers :)
Depending on the RMS rating of the components overall (inc midbass driver) it may be better to run them off an amp.

Running them from the amp will give more clearer sound reprocussion, but if the power rating is only small then you can easily run them off the headunit - i do (i run 2 sets of components off the headunit) :)

Cheers for the response.

Gaz, I didn't know about crossovers, tbh. Arc gave me some info earlier which helped point out what they are/do!lol The tweeters I ripped outta my spare Cinq actually have them but I didn't have a clue what they were. One tweeter is just dead and the other sounded like a wet fart because it souded like it was trying to force too much bass through.

So I thought; knackers to it, I'll buy some new ones :eek: 5mins of eBay later and I've got some new Pioneer TS-S250's, which I think (from trying to make out the pic) come with in-line crossovers. So I'm looking forward to receiving those and giving them a try.

I'd prefer to run them off the HU. Basically down the fact that wiring is already there and laid

Im with Luke on the crossover idea. That can be as simple as a capacitor on the tweeter's postive line.

Mine piggyback off the front speaker connections and are filtered using a 10u capacitor I think (the values can be easily looked up, and then tuned for specific frequencies)

I'm gonna see how the news ones turn out. Then I'll get round to working on the old ones and can have them mounted in there too

Just checked the product info on another auction:

Built in crossover network

:D

there best wired from crossovers dude!!!!!!

if you have an amp;

Wire your amp to the cross overs the tweeter and woofers to them also youll get the best sound out of them!!!

if you dont have an amp;

wire you original (standard) woofer wire into you output of the crossover
wire you new woofer and tweeter into the cross over and ull get good niose but not as good as that of an amp (y)
