Turbo Kits?

Hello

Anyone know anywhere to find turbo kits ready for the 1.8 engine MK1... for now all I have find is the NOVITEC one, and one for the HGT model for 260 HP, 300 Nm OUCH!!!!
 
Still want more power?

I think the novitec one is the only one but its not a kit. They won't sell you the bits.

The cams are really being problematic...maybe they have to go out...dunno...anyways was offered a kit for the Alfa 156 (maybe??) 1.8 for 250 HP :) But there must be something else out there...

Well...there is some doubt regarding what type of cam I got installed...Apparently i got the very sharp racing (Corsa) cams...and so the car is a sh*t to start sometimes and also badddddddd in idle always...but this could also be some stupid sensor giving some problems around...so lets see!

DOH! I'd have expected a bit more power if it was the longer duration cam.

One thing would be to lighten the flywheel, that will improve idle with lumpy cams.

More power? I mean almost 20 HP with cams alone is quire impressive :) The thing is the cams (if are the racing model the mech was telling me about) he told me can deliver power up to around 7500+ RPM but of course the car has already shut off long before that... But lets see...maybe they need retiming or something, there was no prob first when the cam sensor was damaged...

If they were supposed to go to 7500 then I'd expect the graph not to drop off quite as much.

Did you get the sensor changed in the end? I remember you had some probs when it would not start at all.

Has had problems starting since day one...
Day after tuning was done car died while driving and would not start again (bad cam sensor) ... Now has been all fixed but still probs starting (sometimes) and bad idle...maybe needs retiming or dunno...they will also do some unichip adjusting in the ignition...

Does it just turn over without trying to fire or is it trying to start but just won't catch and keep running?

It tries as hard as possible to start, but just can hear it coming out of the exhaust...like bang bang bang...nothing happens.... :(

Ignition advanced a bit too much maybe.

The prob with lumpy cams is that at cranking speeds you are actually getting much less compression than normal as alot of the air escapes due to the longer duration of the inlet.
