I've just recently started having issues with my fiat doblo 2015 1.3 multijet, was out on a job and had a loss of power especially uphill with a engine light, got home and out scanner on it, and it is showing p2563 - turbo boost control position sensor A circuit range / performance.
I haven't a great deal of experience with turbos as never had issues with them in past, seen a few other posts and seems to point towards sensor, or hoses, not checked or tested sensor yet (need to find where it is) ive checked all hoses and pipes and cant see any disconnected or damaged / leaking, and it haven't a clue how to see of the turbo actuator is working or sticking etc.

Any one have any ideas of where to start hoping its a simple fix and not a replacement turbo

It may not even be a sensor issue, I had similar on a 2010 1.6 Doblo and in the end it was a small air leak on the inlet manifold where the EGR pipe goes in, new screws and gasket and back to normal.
Also check for any air leaks or damage to intercooler and turbo hoses, especially if fault happens when under load when it is boosting more.

Ah OK thanks ill have look properly tomorrow funnily enough I use van as a courier van, and was down a really dodgy bumpy track and bottom of bumper hit the ground as road dipped, and had the issue near enough straight after that so could be something knocked loose perhaps

It may have even damaged the intercooler which is in that area, so well worth having a look.
There are smoke tests etc. to locate leaks in turbo system and intercooler pipes if nothing obvious.
Sometimes if you check with bonnet up and get someone to rev the engine , you may see or here a leak.:)

Ya you were right defo intercooler, however seems to be an oil drip coming from under the intercooler surely that isn't normal

Oil gets into intercooler from two sources, engine breather from worn engine which you can check by looking at breather pipe going into air filter pipe before turbo.
The other place oil can get in to intercooler is if the turbo is on it's way out, oil past it's bearings.
So just see if the oil is before or after the turbo.:)

Fixed that issue no oil coming through anywhere so could potentially be old oil from past issue, however now ive done that ie noticed thw rad has a hole in too so going have replace that whilst bumpers off 🙈 anh idea how simple this is guessing just undoing fan shroud wiring etc and then drainkng and undoing hoses and lifts out ?

Any advice - replace intercooler and rad all went ok, but after resetting fault comes back on and still no boost ive double checked all pipes and hoses etc no obvious leaks or disconnected hoses or clips or splits not the best but used a leak detection spray and sprayed all hoses and nothing triple check intercooler is correct and hoses all tightened and they are

Hi mate , I had a similar problem on my 2015 1.3 multi, had to change the metal intercooler pipe on the driver side, it had a hairline crack in the weld where it bolted to the chassis rail. I still had loss of power problem and had to have the boost pressure valve replaced, it’s just below the front slam panel, it wasn’t opening the turbo actuator . Cured the problem 👍🏻

Thanks mate I shall have a look luckily off work nows don't need van, more then likely cracked something else as must of been a fair wack with size of the crack in intercooler 🙈

I had to replace the intercooler too 🙄💷💷💷
Ya been an expensive weekend all for avoiding a tractor and hitting underside in a mound side of road to get around 🙈 hoping is just a split pipe only other thing it could be is wastewater actuator as i cant move it at all by hand

Yeah all adds up , hope you get it sorted 👍🏻
Question when you had boost valve replaced was there any visible damage or leaks? I've had a look at it and cant see any damage what so ever or loose / leaky hoses, ill have to have a good route around with some leak detection spray n try find any potential hair like cracks etc

I had oil residue one one corner of the intercooler & around the welded bracket on the intercooler pipe, the boost valve had no visible damage, when I took it to the garage they looked at the actuator on the turbo to see if it moved as the van was reved up and I don’t think it did , he mentioned that the valve was very hot , the valve has a couple of vac pipes and an electric connection to it . I can’t remember if he took one of vac pipes off to show it was faulty.

Ah ok thank you I shall have a play n tey see what issue is, ya I was same had ool residue around corner of intercooler and thats when noticed the hole potentially could of damaged the metal pipe as well then ill have a good look around in the week thank you
