hi guys, i been offered a coupe turbo engine + ecu, but the red key is not present! is this going to cause major problems if i used it to do a turbo conversion? can the bravo's red key be used?

cheers in advance
rich

the red key and ecu are linked, you cant use the one from your car.

Not sure how much you need it though.

i was not sure if the ecu needed to be reset at any point during the conversion? plus (proberbly a silly question) but this mean ignition barrels need to be changed? or can red keys be re-mapped?

if your asking questions like this how the hell are you going to do a turbo conversion????

the wireing is stupidly difficult turbo j is an auto electrician and it took him a month to work out the electrics when he did the conversion

1 key = 1 barrel = 1 ecu. If any key worked any barrel then we would all be able to drive each others cars

Four things mate.
1) Buy a new set ECU, Red Keys, Code box
2) Get code removed from ECU about £200
3) Buy a custom ECU that's fully mappable
4) GOOD LUCK!

Hi mate the best thing to do is get the coupe ecu de-coded as new ecu lock set and key code box cost a fortune, once de-coded you need to unplug the code box under the drivers side dash, the only dissadvantage is youll be doing away with one of the best vehicle standard immobilisers, when i converted my bravo i tried to bypass and even with the diagrams its still impossible,so i used the coupe red key and coupe code bow which just plugs straight in.
