Hi,

Has anyone managed to tune a 1.8 Stilo? Although it has 133BHP it doesn't feel like it.

I've changed the Air filter to a Green Cotton one. (Can't say I noticed any difference!)

And I've just sent back an ECOTEK valve because there's no where to fit it. (An ECOTEK recommended dealer couldn't fit it)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Apart from wanting more power I have to say it's a great car, good build quality and good drive.

Many Thanks.

Hope I don't offend you with what I'm about to say but remember you are a lot higher off the ground in a Stilo than ordinary cars and this will give you the impression of not moving very quickly when in fact you are. I have a 1.8 Stilo and an Arbarth 2.4. I think the 1.8's performance is excellent for the size of car.
Just a thought!

I think you might be right, I had a Megane Coupe before and that felt fast, this is definately more refined.

Just out of interest how many miles has you 1.8 done as I've heard they take a while to properly loosen up?

Also approx what MPG are you getting?

Kind Regards,
Damo.
If however you do decide to modify your 1.8 let me know how you get on. Thanks.

I first thought the same thing. It definitely doesn't feel fast (just nippy)around the doors, but I'm impressed on the motorway. Put your foot down at 60 or 70 and it surges on to 100 or more (if I had the bottle). I think it's deceptively fast. You don't realise it until you leave other cars way behind you. Mines done 2000 miles and I was getting 40 mpg, but thats down to 35 now that Mrs Daft has decided to take it to work and she hits morning and evening rush hours.

Sorry, this is completely off topic, but I've just noticed that "DazCarter" is from Macclesfield. I live near there! Where did you get your cars from - Moss Rose?

I've got a 1.6 active sport and that feels quick considering the size of the car and it only being a 1.6 it leaves alot of bigger engined cars for dust. It happily pulls to 125mph on a flat road with 2 ppl in the car. Just need an iduction kit and an exhaust for it now, anyone got any ideas?

it must be possible to tune the
1.8 engine to about 150bhp'
because they use the 1.8 engine
in the stilo rally car and its about
150bhp.

but i dont know how they do it
new ecu?
