I was wondering
Which Gear oil Recommended for use ?

75W90 or 80W ?

I have 1.4 umo IES 95

Thanks, jessy

Hi there Jess

Well, I personally use 20W50, since the engine is quite worn, with high mileage.

What climate ar you in? Hot, cold, temperate? Also affects the choice of oil, as well as how old your car (engine) is etc.

(If we're talking about the same oil usage!) :D

Factory spec is 80w which is pretty common transaxle oil.

I prefer 75w/80 as they shift better

Sorry, if im not explained myself correctly.
I asked about Gear Oil.

I use 10W40 in my Engine :yum:
Because that is what until now have used,
and i dont have any Small liquidity (y)

Climate is extreme, Very hot in summer. and in the Winter really cold.

so, Which Viscosity oil is preferable ?
1. 75W90
2. 80W

for my 1.4 IES UNO (1995)

SteveNZ IS talking about 'gear oil'!

Early Uno gearboxes could use the same oil as for engines (15w/ 40). I used this on both my 1986 999cc Unos. My 1989 70SX has a different gearbox and uses something like 80w oil. Whatever it was I bought turned out to be the same as diesel oil for something.

There's a number of different gearboxes fitted to Unos so you have to determine exactly which one you have to be able to know which oil to use.

O.K

First Thing, It's quite surprising What you saying.
How i can determine exactly which one do i have ?
Where i should Find ?
is the gear Model embedded on it ?

Do you have Some Link or Something like that, Which contains a table by the appropriate Gear model
And Which kind of oil Suitable According to climate ?

PLS ALSO INCLUDE HOW MUCH LITER OF GEAR OIL WILL WE PUT IN THE GEARBOX. I HAVE A UNO45s 999C ENGINE. WEATHER HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES IS HOT ALL YEAR ROUND. I JUST CHANGE MY GEAR OIL WITH SAE90 that is what is available here anyway... (y)

it's not harder than to go where you buy your oil and ask after gearoil to a Fiat Uno 1,4 IES, then you should get the rigth oil. as for the engine, since it's both hot and cold where you live, you should use synthetic 0W40 oil. I use that specs in oil and where I live it can go from plus 40 degrees celcius to minus 50 degrees celcius in extreme cases:D
