Hi there, I have a Fiat 500x 66 plate (2016) have been getting transmission error on the screen. Took it to a mechanic and he got the following codes. He did a transmission oil change and it has reappeared driving it home. What would be the next steps and should I take it to my fiat garage. I have it booked in for Friday but it is 60miles from my house and needs to be towed there. Can anyone recommend me what to do. My car has only done 27,000 miles and I’ve had it from new. Many thanks Nancy

It may be me but I do not recognise any of those error codes. It could be that Autel are mapping manufacturer's codes to their own more universal explanation/system.

Not sure what to suggest. You have a number of codes/faults which often indicates electrical / power / earthing / battery issues.

You could get it to the Fiat dealer you bought it from, or another more local one?

Another option is to reach out to Fiat Forum Members with MES see:

https://www.fiatforum.com/directory/categories/multiecuscan-register.4/

They could read the error codes which may be more specific than the Autel ones.

I have 2016 500X automatic, you do not say if your car is auto or manual. I had a transmission warning come upon the dash and once I had pulled over and stopped I could not re-engage the drive mode and therefore could not go anywhere. After waiting a good while, 1 - 2 hours all was well for a short time and then it repeated what happened again. The RAC towed me to the Fiat agency who eventually found that the electric motor that powered the pump for the auto transmission had failed and was getting very hot and not working, pump motor changed all OK. This failure happened at about the same mileage as yours.
Don't forget if your car is an auto it best to have a front wheel lift for towing.

Thanks for your reply. Yes my car is an automatic. Was it expensive to get fixed by Fiat? Thanks for your help

The Fiat garage put it on their computer and replaced 2 parts, an electronic module and what looked like a pressure sphere. On taking the car home it failed again and was taken back, it was then that they took the electric motor off of the pump and replaced it with a new one from a car in the showroom. Been ok since. Just dug the old invoice out and in December 2019 the motor cost £186's, they didn't charge for fitting it because they hadn't cured the fault previously. Fitting charge should not be very much as it is only held on by 2 bolts and an electrical connector all easily reached when the car is on a lift. All of this is assuming that it is the same fault but sounds like it is.

This is what Fiat have come back with. Seems like many gearbox specialist won’t touch the pump.
