hi all..
im looking for a new car and took my car to a local trader.i have a 98 fiat bravo 12 months mot full leather and electrics all the usual spec.is he just taking the **** offering me a pathetic £500???????

Unfortunately I don't think the dealer is joking. They have to try and make a profit on the cars they sell, which means they can't offer much for the car. As anon said, it's probably best to go for a private sale, put it on pistonheads or ebay, remember you can only put it on here directly if you're a paid up member.

I know when we went to see how much a garage would offer for my mothers car, a Rover 25, 5 years old, really low mileage, leather, air con, FSH (unfortunately we were looking to sell just after Rover went bust) and the garages were all offering around £500 for it, sold it privately for £2000.

Never offer a trade in. Its better to sell private unless its a nail
