Tips on Protecting your contents/HU

I've seen smashed glass on the kerb twice in the last three weeks just outside my flats where I pack my pride and joy!
So can only assume some unfortunate soul must've had their car broken into or stolen!
Any tips on protecting thieves from breaking into your car and stealing stuff like your stereo?

I take it the GP doens't have an alarm - only an immobiliser so smashing the glass wouldn't set off anything?

What kind of deterrents can be used to make the b**** move on!

Not even my squash racquet that lives on my back seat??
Perhaps I should be putting that in the boot now!

Keep a big dog in there, of course you then may have issues with the RSPCA but hay ho theres always something.


If your stereo has a removable face-plate REMOVE it (from the car)
Have an empty glove box and leave it open
As above leave nothing on show - even jackets. I suppose fast food wrappers and half eaten burgers are OK.
Never leave the windows open - even a crack in hot weather, you can cool the car down fast enough when your in it
