Hi

Need your advice on suspensions problem that i have.

I have Tipo (3 door) with fiat coupe 16VT internals. (engine, gearbox, injection, ecu, flywheel, clutch, turbo (T3),intercooler,oil cooler)
The gearbox linkage is allso taken from coupe. I didn't want to make changes to original axle shafts so i use lancia thema turbo axle.
becouse of that my wheelbase got bigger 20mm each side in front and i used 17mm spacers on rear wheels to match them to the front. The car is runing on eibach pro springs (-40mm). As you can see on the pictures the car is lower in the front more than rear and when when driving hard in to the conners the wings are eating the tyers.
Any suggestion on how to solve it. ???
(Sorry for the mistakes english is not native language)

About the "stiffer springs" what are my options ?
Original springs are makeing the car to much high.(I think so)
Eibach pro kit (-40mm) allso not a option. (it's to low)

this is what i did used alfa 145 arches

Can you tell me alittle bit about your car. (i mean technical stuff).
Did you use a coupe gearbox or original ?? What you did with the gearbox linkage ? which springs ?
By the way the car looks amazing (y)

On the BTC16V reg tipo it ran tipo wheel base on what might well have been strada drive shafts or from a dedra so it had std hubs, uprights, and wishbones. My race car had coupe track with coupe rack but 16v hubs, it didnt hit the arch because of the negative camber. The rear had coupe trailing arms which were wider and I cut slitts in the arch and bent each one over seperately to form a roll without getting someone to do it with an arch roller. Slava 78 you will need to roll the arch or use some skills like Gassy to make a wider arch.

Thanks Rich and Gassy for your advice.

I used Fiat Marea wishbones (they are alittle bit longer than the original) on std hubs and Lancia Thema drive shafts (they are the same length as on coupe but a little smaller on the hub side and fits perfectly).

Rich if i'm not mistaking you installed "modena" coilovers on your Tipo.
Can you tell me how much did you pay for them ?
How the installation was ?

Gassy did you use tipo shocks and "eibach springs" or coupe ??

Madeno shocks made by AST - you can buy straight from AST, they are a lot more expensive then most road going items like koni's(about £1500 for the AST about £450 for the koni eibach), and the koni's are very good. They were no problem to fit, the rear has a 60mm spring conversion needing the drill 3 spot welds off the standard spring holders then bolting on the AST item with the sub frame removed. I suggest you get hold of a coupe 20vt rear antiroll bar as they are thicker than the tipo.

top mounts were optional extra for the coil overs, I think they can use the std

The design was for a wide track as on the alfa 155 std car, so on the tipo it wont work as standard. FK could be another option for you.
