Technical tipo injectors

I have tipo 1.4ie,injector warning light started to flicker on,milage is only 48000,taking to garage soon but anyone had simular probs.ps fault is intermitant.kev.


since above my mechanic says the lambda sensor is u/s and has cancelled a fault code for the 'potencometer' anyone hod a simular problem ?.kev

Hello Kevin.

I have the same model of car, and get the same problem you have mentioned below. My Injector Light comes on intermittantly, then the car will jolt back & forth, whilst going through the gears.
I took it into a FIAT garage, and they changed me £40 to test all electrical components - It passed, so they would not do anything else.
I've looked on these forums before and the lamda sensor seems to be a prime candidate to fix the fault - However, no garage will do mine, as they are unsure it will fix my fault.
Have you got a fix for your car yet? Also, do you or anyone know where I can get a repair manual for a Fiat Tipo 1.6 IE N reg - No Hayes manuals exist. Found one by a lady called Lindsay Porter, but this is now discontinued.

Any help would be grand, as I'm starting to lose the plot with my car!

DJCOPA, i am still awaiting for the lambda sensor to arrive from Italy,by three legged donkey,via the Alpes i suspect, as FIAT UK sent the wrong one!. My Tipo suffered the same symptums and you need to find a local garage that will test your ECU with a sikes-pickavent diagnostic computor,most good garages have them,they will take 5 minutes to tell you if its showing a 'fault code' on any of the sensors for the injection system. Lindsey Porter manuals are very good,i have one and try Halfords to see if they can locate one for
you.Kev Brum .
ps:update on lambda sensor,six new sensors made it to Wolverhampton Fiat depot,and have been lost/nicked or sent somewere else,more three legged donkeys dispached from Turin yesterday!.
ppsorter publishing part number for Tipo,Brava-o,Punto,Tempra etc is
pm 3842 cannot find any info on websit, one manual covers all but Haynes will give you most basic info on your Tipo.Kev.

Got a manual off some chap on this website. It appears all of them are no longer produced, so e-bay was the next option.

Good Luck with your Lamda senseor saga - Nothing is ever easy!!! I think I will have to bite the bullet and take it back to a garage and hope that the tests find something wrong with it.

Is it an expensive component? I only ask, as everything seems to be costing me money at the moment (always the way), and I don't want to get it fixed and then find out my bank balance is nil!

Finally sorted Lambda sensor problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after FIVE different sensors from fiat etc i now have a healthy Tipo again,the sensor to fit my 1.4ie turns out to be a BOSCH LSH15 0258 003 222 .Fiat part number 7668286. It's supposed to fit a Tempora. If anyone else gets a lambda sensor problem try justlambda.com,they are quick and helpful. Kev.ps it cost me £89...60 for sensor.
