hi people, been awhile since ive been on here. my tipos still on the road :D but is well overdue her cambelt change now so ive decided to do every belt the water pump, thermostat and all tensioners, ive managed to get all parts now other than the balance shaft tensioner bearing and thermostat :bang:
can anybody please help supply or get these parts its a j reg 1992 5 door.

recent mods: coupe turbo alloys, chipped ecu from richard portsmouths old sedi, goodyear eagle f1s,omp exhaust(offebay this is crap do not buy,my sedis destroyed this exhaust in 6 months).abarth steering wheel.

mods to come: new exhaust, spoiler, tints, respray, full engine rebuild hopefully ported and polished with race cams,,,,or maybe a new full turbo engine!!!

hi to all,,fiat tried charging me 70 quid for this,,i changed the bearing myself and it cost me a fiver,,fiat must be making a mint... now ive got all the parts i need to do my dreaded cambelt, balance shaft plus all tensioners, waterpump and thermostat, im in need of a cheap runaround for now while the sedi is off the road being sorted.

thermostat was £6.95 from midland car parts derby,,cheap!

the belt change isnt actually that hard if you have a little knolege of mechanics, i myself have done several belt changes on tipo's over the years. i'll try get a picture from the autodata cd at my friends garage for you if you want?

If I had the space perhaps I could be doing the milkbottle - having to save up to have it put through a garage :(

hi to all,,, space is also a problem for me too,,checked oil on tipo today and it has water in the oil so my rebuild must start now,,,,i must fix it,,,ive been trying to find a cheap runner,,,idealy need three months t and t,,,in that time im gonna spray and fit my spoiler,,,,new seals,,gaskets and tensioners throughout,,,,all belts,,waterpump,,,and anything else that needs doing along the way,,,,could be alot,,,,all my tensioners scream 1st thing in the morning and i believe theyve not been changed for 40,000ish, my history states it had a second hand engine at 48,000 miles,,mileage is now 87,000 so its done very well to last this long as its my first car and im nearing my 1st years of no claims,,,all ive done is make it sing rather loudly !!! ive drove it as hard as i possibly can,,,!!! INDESTRUCTABLE ANIMAL.

Or you're just lucky!

Mine went on a gently left hander off a roundabout... Dropped to 3rd.. doing about 2500rpm and suddenly nothing.... Annoying given all the times it could have gone while on full chat.

Should really be saving up for a replacement engine given that's going to be easier than fixing her current one.
