I don't really know a great deal about them but you could look here for more info on them http://forums.delphiforums.com/tipo16v/start

All i know is that the engine is the same as a Coupe 16V and the integrale without the turbo. I think they are great cars whcih are under rated. I remember a car mag from 10 years ago or so saying it was much much better than the similar priced Escort RS Turbo, Astra GTE & 16V Golf MK2.

And as with anycar of any make over 10years old check for rust everywhere.

thanks for that.the car i am going to see has done quite high mileage so i was thinking if anything did go wrong i could just do a bit of saving and maybe look out for a 16v turbo engine to go in it.

Yeah the turbo will fit. If you did end up buying it and going down this route keep the exhaust cam as its got a slightly diff duration/lift and is a well know mod on the integrale to fit one of these.

High millage shoudl prove to be no problem as long as it was well maintained as regular oil changes are essential to stop crank shaft failure, and cam belts cos if they go they take lots of valves with it.

Good luck with it hope all works out well.
