:cry: (n) got a tipo 1.9 td sx 1993 mrk2 has got some kind of electrical problem charged up battery still doesnt start put new starter in still nothing when i turn the key starts clicking in the engine bay repetivly is it an earthing problem lights are bright all electrics work im stumped anyone help ??? please .....

Sounds like solenoid. Check the wire to the solenoid. Solenoid might require replacing.
If you take the starter off, hook it up to the battery and see if the solenoid "dog" goes in and out [ makes contact with flywheel].
Oh, try giving the starter a tap with a hammer, solenoid "dog" could be stuck.

Thanks for the response i have done what you said, the starter motor is working so it must be something else. It has been standing for five months i think there is water on the electrics or there is something earthing. Just wanted to see if anyone knew what it was before i start striping it down as its a tight space in the engine cavity.

Ok.
You need to check the voltage at the starter motor. Check all Ignition connections. Somewhere on your ignition circuit, you have a bad connection or broken wire. Makeup another wire direct from battery to starter. Also check the wire to the Diesel pump. They have a habit of fracturing. Might also be an ignition switch problem, so check feed to solenoid.
