Right.. I'm on my 2nd D-link Router (DSL-624T)

Anyway.. the internet keeps loosing connection Very badly, i'm talking 5 times an hour! and this has been happening for months:(

my computer in my room isn't affected but this one (downstairs) always is.

my computer is hard wired, this is wireless, the signal is usually 'very good' but it always drops out, I can't find much on Google, as you can imagine it's a 'bit' annoying lol, i've been trying to download Americas army for months but it never gets the chance to finnish.

thanks everyone!

I had a d link once, a hard wired 4 port, it worked fine for years before I got the wireless Netgear one I'm using now. I gave it away to my son when his router blew up and it fired up and worked fine after sitting around for years. The netgear DG834G works very well, even down to moderate signal levels but I imagine it's discontinued by now.

Im getting new broadband put in on the 6th march. If you can wait until then you can buy my wireless router for £20 if you like I'll even meet you half way (y) :p.

yeah I remember the day and age were D-link were the best routers . First time I got ADSL in 2000 I had a D-Link DSL-500 and it rocked once it was set up properly (wasn't easy back then compared to now :p).

sounds good, ill let you know, and im up and down to newton aycliffe all the time

ive had a couple of downtimes with this dlink router... just seems to crash every now and again... physically switching it off and back on solves it but this is only like once every 3 or 4 months so it doesn't bug me too much. theres most probably a firmware release out for it that i should get. it was quite a new model when i bought it so it'll still be running an early version.

as others have said tho, there was a time when dlink were the mutts nuts... i remember upgrading my home network to completely dlink devices several years ago and i was impressed.

couldbe interference, try switching channels on the router etc if you havent allready, an old belkin on i had started to do this too, some have a funtcion where they renew the connection after so many mins etc.. you can change the number of mins
