General Thinking of getting a 1.4 TJet

Hi all

I'm looking to buy a bravo 1.4 TJet but hoping you guys can help me with common faults and probs. I used to own a 1.4 stilo before it got stolen (yep you read it right stolen) and need something new. I found one that looks perfect for my budget its done 60k 57 plate FSH but has not had s cambelt change, how much does it cost to get a cambelt change on this model... Wanted to factor this in with the cost of buying the car. Any help would be appreciated

Which t-jet engine is it 120 or 150? Also what spec? active, Dynamic or sport

In regards to the cam belt it's Not expensive at all and is so vital you can't really scrimp on it anyway so should you buy it I'd get it done IMMEDIATELY including water pump and tensioners. On a side note. If you're buying it from a garage get them to throw it in for the price they will do it it believe me

It's the 150bhp sports model

I'm getting quotes of £350 for cambelt and water pump change...... Really need to know what the whole parts and labor would cost mate and see if I can negotiate a better price, would be changing the cambelt straight after buying it

£350 is very steep. You can get it much cheaper than that I'm sure

£350 is about the normal price really. One place did quote £275 for me when I had the grande tjet.

I just got a super quote earlier today. Arnold Clarke will change cambelt/water pump for £230 inc Vat...... Labor and parts included in price

I paid £230 about 2 years ago on my Tjet 150 including the water pump in Essex.

I paid £180 for cambelt, waterpump and coolant top up from a back street garage, parts bought from euro car parts
