Thiefing Bas*ards

Just had my car broken into yesterday outside work. They smashed glass and nicked stereo! Only had it a few weeks. Payed £270 for it.

Luckily they didnt pinch sub/amp e.t.c mind you they were on a moped so would have been difficult.

Had wittnesses they reached into car were out within 5 secs. They took facia surround aswell.

Claimed on insurance for windows deabting what to do about stereo £500 worth of ice cover but I think it affects my ncb. Need to weight it up.

unlucky mate but why on earth did you leave the sterio in the car ? i always remove my facia even if i am leaving my car for 10 min.

Mate, that sucks ass.

I'd claim on the Insurance, it's what it is there for after all. I suppose it depends what you pay.

It wasnt a removeable face. Didnt realise until I bought it. Should have really sent back but had already been without stereo for weeks at the time.

Might write letter to site were I got it from to say might be a good idea to clearly state that its not face off model.

Rang insurance company. £250 excess and will go from 3 yr ncb to 1yr! Obviously not going ahead.

Got a stereo that I can use which I was going to flog on ebay. So effectivly i'm £320 out of pocket.

At least the old stereo is a face off. I thought all stereos these days were.

Does anybody know the site where I can get the good facias from? Jonathans site. cant remember url.

A mate mentioned that I might be able to claim off my goldfish credit card for the theft as I only bought it a few weeks ago. He claimed for sunglasses nicked from his car and got the £80 back.

If the facia didn't come off i bet it was a Sony. Seems to be the trend with Sony's nowadays, I recently nearly bought one of their TFT display head units until i realised that the facia doesn't come off. No way i'd leave that in my car, especially round Mansfield area
