any ideas where i can get a thermostat for my 1.8 hlx bravo.
need it asap realy. gets abit cold this time of year without heatin. haha.
cheers

Local Motor factors! Fiat!

www.shop4parts.co.uk are the cheapest but delivery could take more time than usual with all the christmas rush!

I just changed my thermo on my 1.8 last week, nicely toasted in the cold weather now, mmmmmmmm

how much did it cost you?
did you fit it yourself, or get a garage to do it. how much in total ??
cheers

got mine from shop4parts. fit it yourself. just have plenty of spare jubilee clips in different sizes. you cant reuse the old ones. think there was 5 in total iirc.

I paid my mechanic £15 to fit it as I'm not conffident when it comes to the cooling system etc.

+ had to pay for new antifreeze and a few jubilee clips!

ok cheers. i think ill get someone to fit it.
then if it ****s up i have somethink to go back on.

its a really simple mechanical device. its hard to go wrong. however, changing the coolant is a very good idea, rather than re-cycling the old stuff. and your halfway through getting it changed anyway while changing a thermostat :D

£15 was a steal because your looking at an hours labour minimum for a thermostat and coolant change!, plus parts. Total bill at a garage would probably be £100
