well just over 8 weeks ago i purchased this 2002 punto mia for £150.
it had accident damage to the drivers side wing and a knackered engine.

i removed the knckered headlight and wing and went in search of some new ones, pulled the old engine out and stripped it down.
sold the cylinder head and inlet manifold for £70.

i managed to grab a bargain on ebay, a 40,000 mile engine for £120
a new crank sensor -£35
i new wing £18 off ebay in the correct colour.
and a headlight also off the bay £24.

and today i picked up a second hand shock and some wheel trims for £30.

and so, all in all she's cost me almost bang on £300 so with a bit of graft you really can grab yourself a bargain

as she stands now.

Mods dont add any value they normally lower it. Just have to look at most car dealerships now to see what cars they are trying to sell. Most will have massive amounts of used cars instead of new stuff now. I know a BMW franchise in nottingham has just bought 590 used cars to sell across its dealerships as this is the only stuff they are really selling at the moment.

what are you going to do about the mileage?

well i could get another speedo for it but i'd rather leave the mileage as it is as thats what the car has done, knowing the engine is only 48k ish is peace of mind really.

i need a cheep car for commuting to work (20 miles a day) so i'll proabily keep it but if i'm offered a mk1 sporting for it or a siecento id be very interested. (y)

hmm but mine are nice mods :p

You better off stripping the car down of mods, and selling them on here, or ebay.
unless you modify the car to the original top spec trim model produced. kind of like captain mike has with the abarth body kit, just slap some badges on the back and put a standard exhaust on it. but generally modified cars are worth less than standard.
To the OP great job witht he car and one hell of a bargain!!

car has done 77,000 miles

replacement engine has done 48,000 miles

i am gonna keep it and upgrade parts when available.

have been offered £650 by a dealer but wanna keep it or swap it rather than sell.
