Tough one.

Depends how much i liked the job or the colleagues, previous history etc.

If i liked my colleagues but wasn't to fussed about the job, i'd own up and take whatever happened. Or if i liked both, got on well with my boss, i'd own up and appologise, offer to work a few shifts for nothing to help cover the loss etc if i could, but grudgingly understand if it meant i got let go.

If however i worked with a few bellends, folk who i feel would sell me up the river, i'd probably keep quiet, then if aything was brought up suggest i kinda knew what THEY had done, but felt bad about chopping them in/hoped they'd own up to their mistake...stand back and watch the fireworks.

Life's like that nowadays sadly, every man (or woman) for themselves. Those who aren't ruthless are the first ones to get done over themselves by someone who is.

I'd always favour the honesty option though if at all possible.

I would take it....Im generally not fussed if i loose my job because of something i did wrong, my fault so face the concequences (sp?)

Fess up I reckon. If the company is going to sack you ever one mistake, even a costly one, I guess you weren't that important to the company anyway. However I do like to think I could get another job pretty easily, if this wasn't the case I'd probably keep quite!

Blimey you're a moral lot :D

Like Mark I've chosen other as it'd depend on the circumstances. There's a few folk I know who deserve stitching up at the moment for how they're behaving and if I thought I'd get away with it I'd line them up for the fall. Karma and all that crap for the fact they're lazy bastards who pass their work on to others and expect to be paid for doing **** all. The only time I've seen them do any work is when it comes to getting their finances in and then they were first in the queue :(

and herein ends the rant lol

I'm not moral anymore. not in the too distant past I crashed a van, got dragged through an investigation progress to find they could not do anything about it coz it was just an accident. It turned out I was dragged into a power battle between supervisor and assistant manager.

I swear I would rather take my chances keeping quiet in future. ;)

Katie I work with lazy Staff, but can't blame things on them most the time.
Things some staff forget to do: Fill out the Duty record Card (Legal Requriemnet when working on SCOs), can't be bothered to bring their own pen, can't be bothered to print their own barcode (to work on SCO) don't bother keeping their till area tidy, which puts more pressure on the Backshift.
I could go on & on but I won't

Andi, you're a model of tolerance to us all. I'll never understand how you cope in such difficult circumstances like people forgetting a pen
