Cinquecento The adopted Cinquecento

Introduction

500 kilometers since I saved it from the scrapyard and still going strong ;).
Here's some pictures taken yesterday:

It was scrapped because it was troublesome. It still is, still trying to figure it out but it may be up for sale soon (for scrap money, obviously! And there's a LOT new on this car...). The main problem was a faulty coil, but the list of things that are wrong with it is growing and growing...

- leaks oil (quite badly)
- burns oil (quite badly)
- runs too rich since recently
- idles at 2000rpm at random moments
- Smells of fuel in corners
- Driveshaft left front needs replacing
- Motormounts need replacing

Other than that the car drives and steers just beautifully really :).

The good news
- two new temperature sensors
- four almost new tires
- new driveshaft dust covers
- new coil
- new spark plugs
- head gasket fixed this spring

It has a lot going for it but ffs... it just keeps giving me a hard time.
It's like the 2004 Panda I had. Loved it to bits but it developed three completely seperate problems (power steering, a REALLY loud knock when going over bumps that no one could find the source of, engine holding in on subtle acceleration... From a perfectly good low mileage car to all these problems within a single month. Just incredible.
The weird thing is, I usually drive French cars. It's not like I'm not used to some quirkiness, but these FIATs do baffle me. It's rather annoying as I like them so much...

The location is in Eysden, near the little village of Withuis right at the Belgian border. This gas station will be fixed up sometime if all goes well, but I really like it the way it is :).
