So it's that time of the year again for me, insurance quotes.

So, who are the decent/cheaper companies?

I'm doing a load of quotes now but would like any recommendations you have? :)

Dom

Just insured my son (he paid) with Elephant.co.uk.

Out of all the companies, they turned out to be the cheapest.

I'm with "Green Insurance" UK (Glasgow) based and although they're not the cheapest they plant a load of trees to offset the Carbon your car makes.

Now the Fantasia is a one off I may try a classic policy in October and get a little run around.

After calling sales/quotes for 20 minutes without being answered I called customer services, they said they would put me straight through to sales team, they put me through to renewals. :bang: They then said they would put me through to sales, instead they put me through to a completely different insurance company!!

Do Elephant not train their people to use a phone! :bang::bang::bang:

That's another thing about Green Insurance, free call back if you don't like being on hold and the hold message is news, business news, weather reports as well as the latest offers and promotions. So I use the free call back if I'm at home or on my mobile or I have a catch up if I'm using the office phone. Best of both. :)

Now heres your problem - you need to make a decision.

Do you want Cheap, or do you want a decent insurance product?

Aviva Direct might be worth a try if you've never had a claim, and have a clean license. Also do a multi vehicle policy similar to other companies, so as other cars in the household come up for renewal you can add them and get good discounts :)

Due to the price differences, cheap. :p

Mum's 4x4 is insured for green laneing etc so she won't want to change.

Aviva - £1,912.00

This isn't for everyone but ...

Telematic box insurance companies are miles cheaper than any other standard company out there.

I am with insurethebox and received a £1100 quote even though i'm a new driver and passed my test the week before insuring my car.

They do not penalise you for bad driving (speeding, heavy braking, hard acceleration etc.) primarily but it will affect your insurance renewal premium with THAT company. So it's a cheap option for a year, then another years NCB will make normal insurance companies quote less.

I'm with insurthebox now but 6000 miles isn't enough and they're quoting more than other companys, thanks anyway. :)

Just don't go through Express Insurance. Stupid company.

When i had bikes they charged £125 administration fees to change vehicle and it took me about 30 minutes talking to one of they're staff trying to make them understand that i wanted to cancel my insurance and not renew.

 and your getting 1k quotes for a 1.4?

i'm 20, 0 NCB (not too much difference between 0 and 1) but without telematic box companies i was getting £3500 quotes.

You looking at fully comp?
